OutdoorNebraska.gov | 71 VENTURE PARK: LOUISVILLE STATE RECREATION AREA L ouisville SRA is part of the Venture Parks complex and is situated on the south bank of the Platte River in the north edge of Louisville on Nebraska Hwy 50. This 192-acre area has many year-round Electric Plus, Electric and Basic campsites. There are modern restrooms, coin- operated showers and a dump-and-fill station. RECREATION Louisville SRA has about 50 acres of water in five sandpit lakes. Surrounded by towering cottonwood trees, this inviting area also offers picnicking, fishing, an unsupervised swimming beach, floating playground, bounce village, non- powered boating, concession, hiking, and canoe access to the Platte River. FISHING Louisville SRA is designated as a family-friendly fishing area, as it has great amenities and fish- catching potential. Anglers will find largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, redear sunfish and crappie in the sandpit lakes. A fishing pier is located on most of the lakes, including a wheelchair accessible pier.
