OutdoorNebraska.gov | 49 EAST MIDWAY SRA East Midway SRA is located approximately 5 miles south of Cozad, 2 miles west on Rd 756, 1/4-mile south on Road 418. This site provides excellent access to the reservoir and canal system and serves as a convenient location for boating, fishing and wildlife viewing. All boat types are allowed. A concrete boat ramp, dock, and ADA-accessible parking are available. FISHING East Midway offers crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, flathead catfish, freshwater drum, carp and sauger. This site offers a quieter access point for boating and fishing along the reservoir system. All boat types are allowed. A concrete boat ramp and dock are available to provide easy water access. FISHING Plum Creek offers crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, flathead catfish, freshwater drum, carp and sauger. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Phone: 308-785-2685 Email: ngpc.johnson.lake@nebraska.gov EAST MIDWAY AND PLUM CREEK STATE RECREATION AREAS G allagher Canyon SRA is located south and east of Cozad on Dr. 752 off Road 422. It is a 400-acre irrigation reservoir with 24 acres of recreation land in a secluded and beautiful setting. Although a challenge to get to, Gallagher Canyon offers outstanding scenery and some of the state's best fishing for crappies and line- busting flathead and channel catfish. All boat types are allowed with a 5-mph restriction. A concrete boat ramp with ADA- accessible parking and dock is available. The heavily wooded campground offers Primitive campsites and primitive restrooms. Picnic offerings include tables and grills. FISHING Gallagher Canyon offers crappie, crappie hybrid, bluegill, blue catfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, muskellunge, northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass, walleye, sauger and white bass.
