2025–2030 SCORP 33 DEMAND Nebraska Trends The 2024 generalized outdoor recreation survey was done to gather data about the current activities Nebraskans are participating in, the importance of outdoor recreation to quality-of-life, and how frequently they are recreating outdoors compared to the past. This information gives insight to the outdoor activity trends within the state. This can be used to guide research and planning for community outdoor recreation. Due to the changes in the survey, we cannot compare directly to past results. But there is one finding of interest to note. Visiting Historical Sites has not previously been reported as a highly desired or participated in activity. Where feasible, supporting this activity is something to be considered when planning for outdoor recreation. This could be done by bringing attention historical markers, historic buildings or sites within the area.
