2025–2030 SCORP 13 INTRODUCTION SCORP Update Planning Process The Nebraska Game and Parks Planning and Development Division carried out the planning for the 2026-2030 SCORP. In developing this plan, input was gathered from Nebraskans about the outdoor recreation activities they enjoy, as well as what developments would benefit them in the future. Additional data and other information were compiled from resources such as the US Census, national trend data and professional recreation organizations. Public participation was the largest contributor to this update. The data and information collected throughout the public participation process is presented throughout and directly informed the SCORP Priorities and Recommendations. SCORP Regions in Nebraska To properly understand the entire State of Nebraska and set priorities for outdoor recreation across the state, this plan has divided the state into seven regions. These regions are representative of the different populations, geography and unique ecoregions that affect the needs for outdoor recreation development. Throughout this plan, much of the data regarding demand, supply and demographics will be broken down by region to see differing trends and to better identify what is needed within the seven regions of the state.
