2025–2030 SCORP 11 How to Use the SCORP The 2026-2030 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) is purposefully made to be user-friendly. Changes in layout have been made from previous Nebraska SCORPs to better support those who use the plan. The Priorities, the most pertinent information, are presented up front and provide a direction for outdoor recreation in Nebraska. Supporting data and information are included in the sections that follow. Whether you are someone curious about outdoor recreation in Nebraska or a community leader planning for outdoor recreation development, there are resources here for you. Depending on your interests, you may want to go directly to a section to find the information you need. Introduction If this is your first encounter with the Nebraska SCORP, be sure to start with the Introduction. This section gives the background of the SCORP and the LWCF grant program. It also explains how the SCORP was updated and the regional breakdown of the state. This base knowledge will help everything else make sense. Priorities The Priorities identify the direction for outdoor recreation across the state that were established as part of this SCORP update that are of statewide importance. Demand Demand illustrates what outdoor recreation activities and amenities Nebraskans are utilizing and development they want to see. This section also includes motivations and barriers Nebraskans have with outdoor recreation. Supply Supply explains and illustrates the outdoor recreation resources available in Nebraska, highlighting the state's diverse ecoregions and wetlands. Demographics Demographics will help you understand the people of Nebraska, both statewide and regionally. Resources Resources is a one stop shop for ways to learn more about everything presented within the SCORP and where to go to discover more tools to make your outdoor recreation projects a reality. Success Stories There are Success Stories on pages 12, 20, 23, 26, 32, and 40. These stories showcase how different elements of the Priorities have been put into practice and offer insights on the impact of projects within communities across the state.
