2025–2030 SCORP 17 NEBRASKA'S OUTDOOR RECREATION PRIORITIES This change provides flexible, easy-to-use guidance. Each community can address the priorities to develop what is best for their community. Success is determined by the community, by addressing a priority as opposed to meeting a goal. Priorities are also more relatable for LWCF applicants. This allows for flexibility to explain alignment with a priority, or priorities, and how recommendations are addressed. Part of the federal requirements for the SCORP is to provide guidance on the issues in which LWCF funding will focus. These recommended focus projects for LWCF funding are addressed in addition to the priorities. There are three priorities for Nebraska. No priority is more important than another and there is no sequential order in which they are to be addressed. Priorities are interconnected and overlap. Communities should start with these priorities and engage their community to determine how a potential outdoor recreation project meets the intent of one or more of the priorities. They address many aspects of quality of life, taking advantage of existing opportunities, and managing for the future. Outdoor recreation is a valuable tool to use toward achieving many community goals. These priorities and following recommendations highlight those possibilities.
