2025–2030 SCORP 49 SUPPLY Private Recreation Approximately 97% of land in Nebraska is privately owned. Some privately owned properties provide recreation to the public for a fee. These areas include campgrounds, golf courses, zoos, adventure courses, and hunting and fishing areas. As these are not public lands it is difficult to quantify the resources provided. Therefore, these resources are not included as part of this look at the supply of outdoor recreation in Nebraska. When considering current outdoor recreation supply for development planning it is important to recognize the local private opportunities available. This helps to understand the full outdoor recreation picture, informing development decisions. Upland hunting on Open Fields and Waters public access area.
