2025–2030 SCORP 37 DEMAND Time Spent Outdoors – Regional Most Nebraskans in each region have not changed the amount of time they spend outdoors in the previous year. Investigating why people are recreating outdoors more or less can provide valuable information to support outdoor recreation development efforts. Trail Use Trail use is the highest reported activity in every region. Trails are also a means to many other outdoor activities such as birding, wildlife viewing, fishing access, etc. Understanding the preferences for trail types among Nebraskans in different regions lays the groundwork for exploring whether there is a demand for additional trails and, if so, what kinds would be most beneficial.
