NEBRASKA'S OUTDOOR RECREATION PRIORITIES
Stewardship
Fund, conserve and maintain current outdoor recreation
resources. Include stewardship in plans for development of
outdoor recreation resources.
To provide quality outdoor recreation, those responsible must ensure the
care and maintenance of outdoor recreation resources. It is never too late
to incorporate stewardship measures that extend the useful life of the
resources created.
Stewardship Recommendations
Utilize public outreach
• Leverage user groups to participate in stewardship projects.
• Provide opportunities for education and interpretation of outdoor
recreation resources to help people build meaningful connections with
the landscape.
• Offer outdoor recreation programming that brings people together to
experience all that these resources have to offer.
Stewardship is the
responsible care
and protection of
something that
is valued and
considered worth
preserving.
Trails Have Our Respect
(THOR) is a group
of advocates and
enthusiasts who build
and maintain most
