Ashland’s Johansson Wins 16-Yard Title at Cornhusker Trapshoot

DONIPHAN, Neb. – Maxwell Johansson of the Ashland 4-H trap team was the winner in 16-yard targets in the senior high division of the 47th Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot on Friday. He shot a perfect score of 75 and then won a shoot-off against two competitors.

Riley Ross of Grand Island and Brandon Kreikemeier of Omaha Creighton Prep also shot 75s and finished second and third, respectively. North Platte’s Zack Krzyzanowski, the two-time defending champion at 16 yards, shot a 73 and finished 19th on Friday.

Saturday’s scores in the 75 handicap targets will be combined with Friday’s scores to determine the overall champion, the Cornhusker Cup winner.

Jade Krolikowski of Centura shot a 74 for the top ladies score. 5 Clovers 4-H of Wilber had the top 4-H team, breaking 354 of 375 targets. Papillion-LaVista 1 had the top high school team at 359 and Lincoln Southwest Pink scored a 346 to win the ladies high school team title.

On Thursday, 864 shooters competed in the junior high division; 1,724 shooters competed in the senior high division Friday.
