Ocean of Grass

Gonna take a break from my usual Friday blog material. . . .

Yes, I am all about fishing, almost all the time.  I am also all about Nebraska, all the time.  I’m born and bred Nebraskan, my blood runs red, it is home, I love it.

Someday I am going to write a blog about the Nebraska sandhills.  I have not done it yet because I am afraid I cannot capture my thoughts in words.  There have been a lot of writers much better than I do that already, but I’ve gotta try too.  I have a bit of the Nebraska sandhills in my blood; my ancestors homesteaded on the western edge of those beautiful hills.

Nebraska’s sandhills and the people who live there very much and in many ways are the heart of Nebraska.  I am convinced of that.

So I want to share this with you today, I recently caught wind of this documentary film:

From what I have heard, the film opened to capacity crowds and rave reviews in Kansas City and more importantly, Broken Bow.

Somewhere, sometime, I gotta see it.

It will be showing at the Ross Theatre on the University of Nebraska campus in Lincoln, Oceans of Grass at The Ross.

Oh yes, the lakes, reservoirs, rivers and streams in those beautiful hills are special places too!
