LINCOLN, Neb. – Willow Creek State Recreation Area is the latest state park area to regain full operations following spring flooding.
Willow Creek, located in Pierce County in northeastern Nebraska, has 101 electric camping pad sites. All electrical service has been restored to the campground.
Aside from camping, the park offers opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking and biking.

Dads who are experienced anglers or novices can take part in the Take ’em Fishing challenge and create a memorable Father’s Day. The challenge includes taking fishing someone new or someone who has not been fishing in a while. When you do, snap a photo and enter to win prizes. More water-based recreation awaits Nebraskans on the Niobrara National Scenic River. The catastrophic March flooding had far less impact on this stretch of river 100 miles upstream from the confluence with the Missouri River. The Niobrara National Scenic River is experiencing near normal to slightly higher flows, but outfitters are booking tube, kayak and canoe trips.
