New restaurant The View at Mahoney will open April 1

LINCOLN, Neb. – The new restaurant at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, The View at Mahoney, will open April 1 and feature an Easter buffet April 4.

For the month of April, guests who enter the park only to eat at restaurant will not be required to have a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission park entry permit.

The View at Mahoney, located inside Peter Kiewit Lodge, will have a main menu, fine dining menu and kids menu. A gluten-free menu will be available upon request. It also will offer catering, to-go purchasing of sandwiches and sodas, and delivery to cabins, lodge rooms, campsites and the Ashland area. It will have an alcohol license in May.

“We’re excited to open The View, welcoming guests back with a great new dining experience at Mahoney State Park,” said Jake Rodiek, superintendent of the park. “The restaurant offers a stellar view of the Platte River and will be great place for a night out, family get-togethers and overnight park guests alike.”
