Getting ready to head out for the Thanksgiving holiday. Want to leave you with this blog post before I take a break for a few days.
We have a lot for which to be thankful. If you spend some time, quiet, on the water or in the field, alone, I do not see how you cannot be impressed with that fact. It comes to me often and not just when I catch a big fish or take game. I am thankful just for the time outdoors, and the folks with which I get to spend that time. Betting that many of you feel the same.
If you are not afraid of history, our country has a long history of thanksgiving. Take some time and look up George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation, or Abraham Lincoln’s. Might I suggest that would be a good exercise in remembrance of what the holiday is really about?
Oh sure, I and mine will enjoy lots of time together laughing, feasting, gaming, watching games, and just plain enjoying the time off and each other’s company. You can be sure that somewhere in there we will slip out for some time on the water and in the field. Thanksgiving is a great time to combo up some fishing and hunting! Past thanksgiving holidays have offered a bounty of fish and game. We truly are blessed.
