LINCOLN – Throughout September, Niobrara State Park (SP) will hold a variety of family-friendly events for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.
Scheduled events are:
— Sept. 2, National Park Service Presents: Missouri National Recreational River – A National Park: Learn more about the Missouri National Recreational River and its history as a park.
— Sept. 3, Buffalo Cookout and Nebraska Humanities Program: Music of the Plains: David Marsh will share stories and songs about the pioneers who settled the Plains.
— Sept. 4, Sidewalk Chalk Art with Bird and Emerald Ash Borer Program: A naturalist program for kids will follow the sidewalk art project.
— Sept. 4, National Park Service Special Event: Children will participate in interactive activities at an educational trailer.
— Sept. 10, Night Owl 5K Run/Walk: The race begins at 8 p.m. with awards and a meal to follow. Registration is $25. Pre-register by calling 402-857-3373.
Niobrara SP will also host a high school cross country invitational on Sept. 1.
