A news release went out on this a couple of weeks ago, but I want to highlight it again.  If you are interested we could definitely use your help!

Become a Certified Youth Fishing Instructor Aug. 20

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify youth fishing instructors Aug. 20 at Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, 21502 W. Neb. Hwy. 31, Gretna, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Youth fishing instructors will receive training and tools to conduct fishing clinics. These volunteers will have access to Nebraska Game and Parks’ loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events, as well as receive program incentives. They also are encouraged to volunteer for such Nebraska Game and Parks programs as Family Fishing Nights and the Outdoor Expos.

To reserve a spot in this free workshop, contact Lindsey Chizinski by Aug. 18 at lindsey.chizinski@nebraska.gov or 402-471-5591.

Our youth fishing instructors are a HUGE asset and help us accomplish a whole lot more than what we can get done ourselves, EXPOS, Family Fishing Nights, Fishing Clinics, etc.  If you have ever seen someone’s face light up when they catch their first fish, well, that makes it all worthwhile.  Please consider getting involved!
