Yankee Hill WMA access road project is complete

March 27, 2023 Jerry Kane

A project to move the west entrance to Yankee Hill Wildlife Management Area along Southwest 56th Street in Lancaster County is complete.

The entrance to the road that leads to the boat ramp has been moved slightly north from its current location. It connects with the old access road further inside the WMA.

The new road is scheduled to be open the first week in April. The old road then will be barricaded and closed.

The new entrance and access road will alleviate problems created by frequent flooding at the current entrance.

Access to all the fishing jetties will remain open.
