LINCOLN, Neb — Go Ape, the nation’s leading treetop adventure company, is opening its first location in Nebraska on Saturday, April 28 at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland. The course, which was developed through a partnership with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, is centrally located between Lincoln and Omaha. The media is invited to attend a special preview on Arbor Day, Friday, April 27 at 11 a.m.

“Eugene T. Mahoney State Park is a premier recreational destination in Nebraska. We’re excited to become a part of the area’s extremely active outdoor culture and offer people a one-of-a-kind adventure in the region,” said Go Ape Managing Director Chris Swallow. “Go Ape will be a robust addition to Nebraska’s state park system, which already features an impressive array of recreational activities across the state. We’re looking forward to getting Nebraska residents up in the trees.”
Construction began this winter, with a 100 percent capital investment from Go Ape to build the Treetop Adventure course. Game and Parks will share in the revenue derived from all ticket sales, with no state dollars being spent on construction, maintenance or operations of the course.

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure is part of Nebraska’s new Venture Parks Complex, and innovative public-private partnership at four park areas: Mahoney State Park, Platte River State Park, Schramm Park State Recreation Area and Louisville State Recreation Area.

Venture Parks are designed to provide diverse opportunities arising from new recreational trends, while also inspiring an appreciation of nature and outdoor recreation through new experiences. “Providing learning opportunities in an outdoor environment is a key pillar of the venture parks project. Guests will gain a sensory experience by venturing into the parks’ treetops and have a fun and memorable experience at the same time,” said Jim Swenson, Nebraska State Parks Administrator.

Let your spirit of adventure roam free in the ultimate outdoor playground. Go Ape Treetop Adventure delivers 2-3 hours of unparalleled outdoor experience that includes a comprehensive safety briefing, a wide variety of challenging suspended obstacles, five epic zip lines, and unbelievable views. The course is designed to accommodate participants of various skill levels, offering a balanced mixture of challenge and fun.

Prices for the Treetop Adventure are $49 for ages 16 and up and $39 for ages 15 and under.

Go Ape remains committed to providing a rich, vibrant outdoor adventure experience for our guests, while also adhering to Game and Parks’ mission of stewardship of the states’ resources. By revenue sharing with our park partners, leading stewardship events in the park, and enabling an inclusive experience for the community through ticket donations, Go Ape is dedicated to our Game and Parks’ goals and excited to become a part of the exciting Venture Parks Complex.
