LINCOLN, Neb. – Eastern Nebraska teachers are invited to explore the newly renovated Schramm Education Center and its field trip opportunities at teacher’s preview events to be held in June and July.
Starting in the fall, the staff at the Schramm Education Center will be offering both self-guided field trips as well as programming led by highly qualified educators. The preview events allow teachers to tour the new facility, learn about the field trip opportunities and sign up.
“The programming offered at Schramm will be both educational and fun. Our curriculum blends Nebraska State Educational Standards and classroom curriculums with outdoor recreation and exploration,” said Lindsay Rogers, the Nebraska Game and Parks wildlife education program manager.
Schramm Education Center is a great place to educate children, Rogers added, as the facility was specifically designed for these types of outings.
“From the beginning of this renovation project, we thought about how this facility will be used for classroom field trips, from interactive exhibits to a dedicated classroom with large doors inviting students to get outside,” Rogers said.
The preview events will be held June 26 and July 18 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. Teachers with a teacher ID will receive free entry; friends and family will pay the regular admission. Teachers are encouraged to bring their children, as a free children’s naturalist session will be offered during the informational session.
