Riverview Marina State Recreation Area temporarily closed because of flooding

August 21, 2018 Jerry Kane

LINCOLN, Neb. – Riverview Marina State Recreation Area (SRA), which is located along the Missouri River in Otoe County, is closed until further notice because of flooding.

Campgrounds, restrooms and other amenities are under water, and electricity to the park has been temporarily disconnected. After water levels recede, regional park staff will clear the area of debris before reopening the park to the public.

It is unclear how long the park will remain closed, as water levels can rise and fall quickly.

Additionally, the boat dock at Pelican Point SRA has been temporarily removed as a precaution during high water.

With record-setting recent rains in the eastern portion of Nebraska, other park areas along rivers may be experiencing higher-than-average water levels. Please call the Game and Parks office at 402-471-0641 to check conditions.
