Hauling

We have five state fish hatcheries in Nebraska.  In any given year those hatcheries will produce over 30 million fish, around 30 different species, and those fish will be stocked literally from one corner of the state to the other.  More than 250 public waterbodies will be stocked each year.  If you are interested in what is stocked where, when and how many, you can see all of our fish stocking database.  By the way, that database includes fish stockings that go back almost a hundred years.

Once those fish have been raised and are ready to stock, there is a lot of hauling to get done.  Every one of our hatchery facilities has a variety of hauling tanks and vehicles to accomplish that job, some big and some small.  As we have been replacing some our our largest hauling tanks, we have been giving them attractive decal coverings that should make them hard to miss!  Keep your eyes open, you likely will see one of these trucks on the road, and they may be on their way to your favorite fishing hole!
