Friday blog post right ahead of a holiday weekend again this weekend. Going to keep it short and light-hearted.
Have never been a big observer of New Year’s resolutions. I always figured that if you needed to do something the old Nike motto was appropriate: “Just Do It”. No sense in making resolutions or promises that you might or might not keep.
However, the end of a year and beginning of a new one is a natural time of reflection. As we close out 2023 and look forward to 2024, you might want to consider these (yes, I stole some memes from somewhere on the interwebs, probably FaceBook, read on if you wish):
If you are wondering the best times and days to go fishing, you can get lots of advice on that. Some anglers will tell you to follow moon phases and daily lunar periods. Others will tell you it is all about the barometer.
My decision paradigm is a little simpler than that:
Even Yoda knows!
One of the big reasons I do this blog and a whole lot of other things is to encourage fishing as a lifestyle. To foster a Nebraska fishing community.
To advance that:
And never, ever. . .
And that goes double for those who speak disparagingly about ice fishing!!!
Have a great New Year! Hope your holiday includes some time on the water or in the field! And hope your 2024 has lots of fish swimming through it!
