Go Fish, Now

May 10, 2024 daryl bauer

We are well into May now.  It is time to fish!  I will tell you generally, May and June are two of the best months for open-water fishing in Nebraska.  I do not care what species you like to catch, which waters you like to fish–Do Not Pass “Go”, Do Not Collect $200, Just Go Fish!  Now!

Sure gather as much information as you can get.  But, you really do not need to fish for fishing reports.  Make your own:

Pick a good spot, 2024 Fishing Forecast.  They are biting, now.

Another question I smile every time I hear it:

There are only about a million ways to catch fish.  For example, there have been volumes written on catching walleyes, in the spring, post-spawn, from reservoirs.  Everyone wants easy answers, but sometimes it takes more than that.  Easy answer?  You have to be fishing in the right place, at the right time, in the right manner.  Best way to figure that out is time on the water!

If I knew all of those answers, I would not be sitting here on the computer.

I would be fishing!

Come to think of it, I would be fishing anyway.

Hope you get on the water to do some field research this weekend!
