All of my channels of communication have exploded this week with fishing reports and fish pictures. In short, right now, do not pass “Go”, do not collect $200, GO FISH!!!! I always say that May and June are the best two months for open-water fishing in Nebraska, whatever species, whatever water. GO FISH!
Do not wait for someone to give you a report, do not ask if the fish are biting–they are!
If you cannot decide where to go, pick your favorite water, your favorite species and GO FISH! If you do not know where to go, maybe start here:
Do not know what bait to use or how to catch ’em? There is a wealth of information in the Roger Flander’s Beginner’s Corner on the Nebraska Fish and Game Association’s Outdoor Forum.
Most of all, quit waiting for an excuse to go fishing. I am telling you, right now, they are biting! You cannot catch anything sitting at home!
Yes, I know it is Mother’s Day weekend. Get your Mom, take her fishing!
Yes, there are graduations this weekend. So what? Put in your appearance at the open house for fifteen minutes, grab some cake and a glass of punch, don’t forget those mints too. Gulp ’em down, tell ’em “congratulations” and then GO FISH. Maybe the graduate would like to get outta there too?!
The turkeys are gobbling, the fish are biting. If you do not find some way to spend time on the water or in the field this weekend. . . well, I am worried about you.
Oh yes, one last thing. . . .
GO FISH!
