July 1, 2019 Jerry Kane

LINCOLN, Neb. – Your adventures at Niobrara State Park could include a buffalo cookout, a unique portrayal of American history, and munching on s’mores while learning all about geocaching.

On July 6, the park will host a buffalo cookout along with the Humanities Nebraska program “Corps of Discovery in Song and Story,” presented by Michael F. McDonald.

Through original songs and stories, McDonald will lead a lively celebration of the challenges and adventures faced by the members of Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery. The event starts at 6 p.m.

Come to S’mores with the Doerrs on July 12 for a fun time by the campfire learning about a new hobby – geocaching. Geocaching is an entertaining, free outdoor activity you can enjoy all summer with the family. Meet at the RV campground at 7 p.m.

Niobrara State Park is located west of Niobrara in Knox County. A park entry permit is required. For more information, call 402-857-3373 and visit Calendar.OutdoorNebraska.gov.
