Comfort

April 15, 2020 daryl bauer

In these unusual times I think we are all just hoping for a little bit of normalcy.  We all hate change and the unknown.  It would be nice to know things are going to be “normal” again.  Would be nice to know things are normal now.

I found some of that the other evening.  Found it sitting on a hilltop watching the sun set.

What I found was quiet, peacefulness.

Deer still ghosted from their bedding areas as the sun got low. . . .

Turkey vultures still soared. . . .

Great horned owls still hooted, and sailed from a branch when I walked by (mouse in talon by the way). . .

Breeze still blew, a spring breeze.  I could smell it, feel it. . . .

Grass was still greening. . . .

Ticks were still crawling. . . .

Coyotes still yipped and howled.  First just over the hillside, then northeast, then west, then farther and farther away. . . .

Turkeys still cut and clucked.  Then flew up to roost. . . .

A handful of gobbles rolled down the creek bottoms and up the hills. . . .

Life is still good, still normal.
