Bridge, bank stabilization project underway at Rock Creek Station SHP

March 7, 2022 Jerry Kane

A construction project is underway at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park near Fairbury that will limit some visitor access within the park from time to time.

The project, expected to be completed by the end of May, will include repairs of the Rock Creek Toll Bridge and bank stabilization upstream and downstream of the bridge.

Construction will affect access to the historic East and West ranches as visitors can expect to find fenced areas and construction equipment there. Access across the bridge may be disrupted intermittently, and a temporary earthen crossing is planned.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is partnering with Nebraska Digging Services and History Nebraska on the project.

Contact the park office at 402-729-5777 or ngpc.rock.creek.station@nebraska.gov for more information.
