a. Place fish barrier in the watershed to prevent rough fish from entering the lake.
b. Improve shoreline access with bump outs, jetties, selective deepening, and
docks.
c. Coordinate with Sandhills Lakes Task Force to treat watershed with Common
Carp if needed.
d. Replace boat ramp facilities to improve access for launching.

Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge (Smith Lake, Crane Lake, Island Lake) (Garden County)
Three lakes are contained within the Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge and account for
over a 1,000 acres of surface water. Smith and Crane Lake were recently opened to fishing
year-round and now allow boating with electric motors. Both bank and boat access are
limited. Smith Lake was recently renovated and restocked with smallmouth bass which
could benefit from rock habitat structures.

Tasks:
a. Improve shoreline access with bump outs, jetties and docks.
b. Replace boat ramp facilities to improve access for launching.
c. Increase spawning habitat for smallmouth bass.

Keller Park SRA Ponds (Brown County)
Keller Park State Recreation Area contains five ponds with 7 surface acres of water.
Maintaining water levels has been an issue in several of the ponds and outlet structures
need maintenance or replacement. Shoreline access for anglers could be improved with
selective tree removal.
Goals: Habitat, Access
Tasks:
a. Improve water level control with replacement of outlet structures on ponds 1, 3,
4, and 5, which are currently failing.
b. Improve access with covered fishing decks on ponds 1 and 2 along with selective
tree removal.
