Nebraska Game and Parks staff ensure public safety and the protection of our state's natural resources.
Whether responding to emergencies like wildfi res or responding to incidents, their eff orts safeguard people
and Nebraska's outdoor heritage.
NGPC offi cers protect & serve
Nebraska Game and Parks conservation offi cers are dedicated to protecting both the people and natural
resources of our state. From enforcing wildlife, parks, and boating laws to responding to emergencies like
wildfi res, fl oods, and search-and-rescue missions, these offi cers work tirelessly to ensure public safety while
preserving Nebraska's rich outdoor heritage for future generations. They also frequently support other
enforcement agencies, particularly in rural areas where assistance can be limited.
In 2024, our team of conservation offi cers had nearly 250,000 contacts with Nebraskans and visitors to the
state. This included nearly 46,000 angler checks; 87,400 parks contacts; nearly 23,000 boater checks; a little
over 22,000 hunter checks; and more than 755 search and rescue missions. We also assisted with over 2,100
outdoor-related programs.
The agency also hired 13 new conservation offi cers between the end of 2023 through 2024. These hires
helped to backfi ll vacancies and fi ll the ever-increasing demand for enforcement personnel.
The division also underwent a strategic reorganization to maximize effi ciency and enhance operations
across the state. By consolidating into four fi eld districts, the division eff ectively leveraged a newly created
sergeant position and established a dedicated Special Projects Unit led by a unit captain. The Special Projects
