Celebrating milestones In 2024, Nebraska state parks celebrated several signifi cant milestones, including: Venture Parks: A triumph of public-private partnerships This year marked the completion of the Venture Parks project, a hallmark of Nebraska's dedication to enriching recreational opportunities through strategic public-private collaboration. This ambitious initiative blended public resources with private investments from generous donors in a targeted enhancement of four park locations in the Platte River Valley — Eugene T. Mahoney and Platte River state parks and Louisville and Schramm Park state recreation areas — with the goal of creating connected and vibrant hubs of outdoor adventure and environmental education. The completion of the fi nal project within Venture Parks signals a new era for Nebraska's outdoor enthusiasts. These parks boast an array of modern amenities and attractions designed to captivate visitors of all ages. From exhilarating zipline courses and treetop trails to expansive water play areas and nature educations centers, the off erings ensure park guests will fi nd endless opportunities for exploration and enjoyment. This initiative underscores our commitment to future generations, as well as to environmental stewardship and accessibility.
