TIME OUTDOORS IS TIME WELL SPENT
WELCOME
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is the steward of our state's fish,
wildlife, park and outdoor recreational resources in the best long-term interests
of the people and the resources. We are honored to serve this mission, with
our goal to conserve natural resources and enhance access and opportunity for
everyone. These efforts enhance the quality of life of all Nebraskans and visitors
to our state.
To be successful, we must plan for the future. We have evaluated our success
in the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan and determined ways to enhance our approach
over the next three years.
This plan has refined goals to guide our efforts based on new information
from our team. Each team member brings extensive knowledge and expertise
to protecting conservation and recreation in our great state. This is prominently
shown in the latest team survey, which indicated 93% of the Game and Parks'
team agree or strongly agree that their work is important to the Commission's
mission. Furthermore, 84% agree or strongly agree they have the opportunity to
use their strengths at work.
We are pleased to share our goals for 2026-2028 in this strategic plan. It
highlights some key projects we have completed in the past three years and
work we aim to achieve in the next three. It also outlines the elements needed
for us to reach our goals, painting a picture of the research, partnerships and
collaborative efforts that go into the work we do.
Strategic Directions:
Conservation – Providing sustainable conservation programs and services.
Recreation – Providing sustainable recreation programs and services.
Our Team – Developing and investing in our people.
The People We Serve – Engaging and building relevancy with the public.
