Venture Park Projects
In 2024, the $40.5 million Venture Park project was
completed. This four-park complex includes Eugene T.
Mahoney State Park, Platte River State Park, Louisville
State Recreation Area, and Schramm Park State Recreation
Area. Each park within the complex features five zones
designed for imagination, education, discovery, serenity,
and adventure. The project was designed to increase
family-based recreational and educational opportunities that
increase lodging, visitor numbers, and economic impacts to
local tourism. This is the largest philanthropic effort Game
and Parks has completed in one area.
All of the Venture Parks have used the LWCF program
to build quality outdoor recreation opportunities.

"The work I do with the Land and Water Conservation
Fund grant program has a big impact on our state
parks and local communities because it preserves
outdoor recreation space in perpetuity, assuring
generations after me will have access to nature."
