Take Aim at Summer Free Archery Events Planned for Lincoln, Platte River State Park

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln and the Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park invite you to Take Aim at Summer with free archery events for the whole family.
Events will take place at the Outdoor Education Center, 4703 N. 44th St., in Lincoln on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at the Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park on Friday, May 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to hands-on activities, guests will learn about upcoming classes, leagues and other events.

Activities at the May 21 Outdoor Education Center event include:

— Indoor and outdoor target archery
— Aerial archery
— Tomahawk throwing
— Firearm shooting
— Campfire cooking
— Kids’ crafts and games

Activities at the May 27 Platte River State Park event include:

— Archery
— Rifle shooting
— Pellet gun shooting
— Hatchet throwing
— Dutch oven cooking
— S’mores by the campfire

A state park permit is required for Platte River State Park event. All activities at both events are free.
