BODY MEASUREMENTS AND RATIOS
These crayfishes have extensive ranges
across North America. It is often of interest
to workers in different areas to be able to
compare the crayfishes that they see with
those found elsewhere. This section
contains measurements of the five native
crayfishes of Nebraska. The measurements
taken are illustrated in the images below.
Separate tables are provided for Form I
males, Form II males and females.
The ratios of one body dimension versus
another is sometimes useful in identification.
These can also vary in different parts of the
species' range. A range of ratios is provided
in the tables.
