M O B I L E P E R M I T T I N G Game and Parks' mobile permitting system displays owned permits on mobile devices, and allows citizens to purchase fishing and some hunting permits using their mobile devices. The new mobile permit replaces the need to possess or carry a paper copy of your permit. After test user groups, mobile permits were made available to the public in April. In 2014, 4,900 permits and stamps were sold, generating $133,273. Mobile permits were purchased by people ages 11 to 84, and most users are between the ages of 33 and 43. An application also was developed to give conservation officers the ability to look up permits on mobile devices. While the permit holder still has the responsibility to display their permits, this innovative enhancement has helped to streamline and expedite a number of field related issues and problems. Additional functionality will be added to the mobile permits in the future. 2014 Annual Report • Nebraska Game and Parks Commission 37
