3. A Type IV is required on all vessels with the exception of PWCs, canoes

5. Required only if operating on federally controlled waters.
6. Not required on motorboats 26 feet or longer.
Note: Some items are not applicable to PWCs since they are not allowed to
operate between sunset and sunrise.
