Boat Smart from the Start
Boating safety begins long before the vessel ever leaves the dock.
When you leave for a day of boating, you seldom expect to end
up in the water. But if you do and are not wearing your life jacket,
you greatly increase your chances of becoming a boating statistic.
Recent year averages indicate that approximately 90% of the
people who died in vessel accidents were not wearing life jackets.

e Boating Safety Seven
… it just makes sense
1. Wear your life jacket.
2. Take a boating safety class.
3. Carry all required safety gear.
4. Know your boat and its limitations.
5. Follow the boating "rules of the road."
6. Be aware of weather and water conditions.
7. Boat sober, and be considerate of other boaters.
