The application of Rotenone to restructure fish populations is an important aspect of this program due to the impact of Common Carp and other rough fish have on water quality and aquatic habitat. Due to the dynamic nature of invasive species infestations and subsequent fish community responses, it is difficult to create long-term (>5years) plans for fish renovations at specific locations. Funding in this category will be utilized to leverage Sportfish Restoration funds through F84D grants. Rotenone application on a Sandhills lake b. Aquatic Vegetation Treatment Funding. Aquatic vegetation is an important component of a healthy aquatic ecosystem. In certain situations, when a waterbody becomes infested with a vegetation, categorized as an invasive species, it can reach a high level of surface area coverage. When this occurs, it impacts the anglers' ability to access the water by both boat and the shoreline. Funding for the chemical treatment of aquatic vegetation will be utilized to leverage Sportfish Restoration funds through F84D grants.
