located on the east end of the lake to prevent flooding, should be maintained to further
protect the lake. The current primitive gravel boat ramp should be replaced, and a boat
dock installed.
Goals: Habitat, Access, Prevention
Tasks:
a. Outlet reconstruction and berm maintenance to prevent rough fish
contamination.
b. Chemical renovation of fish population to improve sportfish populations.
c. Replace boat ramp facilities to improve access for launching.

Summit Lake SRA (Burt County)
Summit Lake is a 190-acre, flood-control reservoir located in Burt County. The reservoir was
built in 1985 and was the focus of rehabilitation projects in 2000 and 2022. During the
previous projects, boating and angler access improvements were made and sediment
retention structures built. Formerly a quality Bluegill and Crappie lake, Summit now contains
an expanding population of Yellow Bass and Common Carp. The overall goal for Summit
Lake will be to restructure the fishery with a chemical renovation and conduct maintenance
on the sediment basins.
Goals: Habitat, Access, Prevention
Tasks:
a. Chemical renovation of fish population to improve sportfish populations.
b. Excavate sediment basins to remove accumulated sediment and restore to
original volume.

Twin Lakes WMA (Rock County)
Twin Lakes is a two-lake complex of Sandhills lakes containing 160 surface acres in Rock
County. It was once a quality fishery, but a high-water event allowed Common Carp back
into the lakes following the last fish renovation in 2016. A barrier was constructed
downstream of North Twin Lake to prevent their migration, and a similar barrier is now
needed on the upstream side of North Twin Lake and the south side of South Twin Lake.
Once these structures are in place, the lakes can be chemically renovated to restore the
fishery.
