Wilson Creek 2X WMA (Otoe County) Wilson Creek 2X was built in 1972 and is located about 4 miles northwest of Dunbar. This 15-acre reservoir offers a valuable fishery in an area with limited public access, but it faces several issues. The lake is generally shallow, has poor angler and boating access, and suffers from dense aquatic vegetation. Additionally, the access road to the WMA has a history of washouts, which can limit lake access. This project aims to address these challenges by removing sediment, improving angler access, replacing the boat launch facilities and repairing the access road. Goals: Habitat, Access Tasks: a. Targeted sediment removal to restore storage capacity and enhance angler access areas. b. Replace boat ramp facilities to improve access for launching. c. Fish habitat enhancements with artificial structures and cedar trees. d. Improve shoreline access with bump outs, jetties and docks. e. Access road improvements to address washout problems. Ownership: NGPC Potential Partners: NGPC Wildlife Division
