25 | P a g e Southeast Fisheries District Aquatic Habitat Project List The Southeast Fisheries District encompasses 19 coun es and is bordered to the east by the Missouri River and to the north by the Pla e River. Approximately 66% of the state's popula on resides here (1,305,195) and although it contains 166 public water bodies it accounts for the smallest amount of surface acres of water at 10,655. As such, the district is comprised of mainly small, flood-control reservoir, private ponds and warm-water rivers and streams. Aerial view of Conestoga Reservoir.
