SANDY CHANNEL SRA
S
andy Channel SRA is located 3 miles (2 miles
south of the Elm Creek exit) south of Elm Creek.
This 180-acre recreation area provides great
opportunities for fishing, floating, kayaking and
scuba diving, and Basic and Primitive camping.
Recent improvements at Sandy Channel include
fishing access, boat ramps, picnic tables, grills,
hiking trails and wheelchair-accessible restrooms.
Primitive restrooms are available
for campers. Picnic offerings include tables,
shaded areas and grills. Concrete boat ramps
are available on Lakes 2, 4 and 8. Boats are
restricted to 5 mph/no wake.
FISHING
Sandy Channel features 52 acres of water in
six lakes, where you can find largemouth bass,
bluegill, channel catfish and crappie, among others.

UNION PACIFIC SRA
Union Pacific State Recreation Area is located
south of Odessa, and comprises 26 acres of land
and a 14-acre lake. The area offers boating,
picnicking, fishing, Primitive camping and
restrooms. There is a gravel boat ramp for
access but no dock. Boats are restricted to 5 mph.
Picnicking options include eight picnic tables, three
grills and three shelters. Hunting is not permitted.
FISHING
Anglers will find bluegill, channel catfish, black
crappie and largemouth bass, among other species.
