LEWIS AND CLARK STATE RECREATION AREA

he scenic Weigand-Burbach area is located
4 miles west of the junction of Nebraska 121
and R54C on Nebraska's second largest reservoir
(31,000 water acres) near Gavins Point Dam on the
Missouri River.
The area has 10 modern lakeside cabins, 150
camping pads with Full Hookups, Electric Plus,
Electric and Basic camping, of which half can
be reserved. There is a full-service marina with
seasonal short-term docks, a 24-hour gas service
and a convenience store.
Other facilities include: unsupervised swimming
beach, picnic shelter, boat ramps, playgrounds,
modern restrooms, showers, dump-and-fill station
and fish-cleaning station.
The Commission manages five recreation areas
on the lake that encompass 1,315 acres. Other
areas and their facilities include: Bloomfield –
Electric and Basic camping pads, modern
restrooms, and a boat ramp; Miller Creek – boat
ramps, Basic camping, primitive restrooms and a
hiking trail; South Shore – lake access with boat
ramp, primitive restrooms and day-use parking.
It also includes equestrian, hiking, mountain
biking, and snowmobile trails, and an equestrian
campground with Basic campsites and corrals.
FISHING
Lewis and Clark Lake has excellent fishing for
walleye, sauger, smallmouth bass, white bass
and catfish.
