TIME OUTDOORS IS TIME WELL SPENT
WELCOME
At the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, we are stewards of our state's
fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreational resources in the best long-term
interests of the people and the resources. Our work to conserve these natural
resources provides access to outdoor spaces for recreational enjoyment of all
types and enhances the quality of life in Nebraska.
While our work to maintain and improve the resources we manage for the
people of Nebraska is a never-ending mission, we also recognize the need to
plan for the future. With our partner, Parlay Consulting, we evaluated input from
our team and leadership; not surprisingly "stewardship" is a core value that
connects broadly with our team. Our team strongly believes in our mission and
we celebrate that, as they are how we impact the landscape and people across
the state! We are also proud that 70% of our team recommend Game and Parks
as a great place to work.
I am pleased to share our 2023–2025 strategic plan that will propel us into
the future. We shared recent accomplishments, evaluated our strengths and
opportunities, discussed underlying barriers, and set strategic directions to
move the agency forward. This plan has three strategic directions:
• Providing sustainable conservation and recreation programs and services,
• Developing and investing in our people, and
• Engaging and building relevancy with the public.
With our talented, passionate team leading the way, we adapt to changing
demographics, interests and technology. Our partners are alongside us as we
strive to achieve goals in conservation and keep people active in the outdoors.
I am thankful for our dedicated team and our amazing partners and
volunteers that will help us achieve success. Together, we will create and
maintain healthy landscapes for Nebraskans to enjoy for generations to come.
Thank you for your support.
