Habitat:

Found mostly in ponds, and reservoirs.
•
Can tolerate turbidity, but prefers clearer and cooler conditions.
•
Will be found in the same habitats and occurs alongside bluegill, but usually at much lower densities.
Range:
•
Statewide, sporadically.

Brassy color with dark spots
forming rows on sides.

Habitat:
•
Found in streams, canals, ponds, and sandpits.
•
Does best in clear water with abundant cover. Seldom strays from cover habitat.
Range:
•
Statewide, sporadically. Most common is sandpits of central and western Nebraska.
