December 2019 • Nebraskaland 69
Summer of 1968, near Winnetoon, Nebraska. My little brother Tim Buchholz and cousin
Norman Buchholz helped me remove carp and dig sediment out of Bernard Jorgensen's farm
pond. This place was my favorite hunting/fishing/hangout location. Nothing better than
catching 15-pound carp all summer long and bringing them home on my bike for Mom to can.
That's me with "the big one!"
