Possible sites include lakes in the Valentine and Crescent Lake national wildlife refuges, Smith Lake, Frye Lake and Cottonwood-Steverson Lake Wildlife Management Area. Prime opportunities are at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area and Mahoney, Platte River, Ponca and Indian Cave state parks, with Ponca providing groomed trails. Stay safe by bringing lots of water and a skiing partner, and letting someone know where you'll be.
