THE CONCEPT
» Overall concept identified by group will be
completed through phases and include active and
passive events, nature and traditional play, along
with introductory and progressive experiences.
THE MATERIALS
» Natural materials will be used whenever possible.
» Opportunities for specific materials identified
to emphasize themes of Two Rivers, such as
incorporation of railroad ties, beaver dams, log
jams, and sand bars.
THE FINAL DESIGN
» The conceptual plan developed from the process
will be used as a road map for the play area.
» As projects are funded, construction details
will be developed as necessary using NGPC
engineering team or other professional
consultants.
THE CONSTRUCTION
» Minor projects will be constructed by the park
staff and volunteers.
» For projects larger in scale, private contractors
will be hired to construct the features.
» All projects are to be constructed during the off
season due to proximity of campsites.
» Work done to berm will be vetted with proper
authorities to ensure safety and compliance of
regulations for construction in the floodplain.
