THE VISION
» Created a flagship natural playscape
in an area that is currently
underutilized, but close to existing
campsites and unique caboose
cabins.
» The natural playscape will include
elements of the existing park's
historical, geographical, and iconic
characteristics.
» Used a natural playscape to replace
aging and limited traditional play
equipment.
THE PARTICIPANTS
» Collected information from Two Rivers
staff, agency park superintendents,
NGPC planners, other NGPC staff, and
a design consultant.
» Will collect user preferences from RV
groups and park users.
THE PROCESS
» Held initial design charrette on site
where two locations were evaluated
and analyzed.
» Created concept from ideas
generated at design charrette to be
phased for development.
» Ground breaking on phase one will
occur when funding is determined
and remaining phases will be
constructed as funding is secured.
THE SITE
» The site was selected because of
the berm features, which provide
changes of elevation, other varied
environments, and micro climates
located within the area.
» The site was selected due to proximity
to lodging and existing parking.
