Success rates for hunters who draw a firearm permit should remain high. Hunters who wait 3-6 years to earn enough preference points for buck permits should consider doe permits, which are first-come, first-served and do not use preference points. Archery permits are unlimited and hunters can get an either-sex permit every year. Nonresident opportunity is restricted to unlimited statewide archery permits. LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ANTELOPE Buck – Antelope with horns longer than its ears. Doe/Fawn – Antelope with no horns or with horns shorter than its ears. PERMIT DETAILS * $5.50 due with application; if drawn, balance due by July 19. See page 8. Firearm – Issued for specific units during October Firearm or Late Doe/Fawn seasons for use with firearms and archery equipment. Bag limit varies by unit. Resident — $42.50* Nonresident doe/fawn only— $184.50* ** Archery – Valid statewide, except for Fort Robinson State Park, Fort Robinsion WMA and federal and state sanctuaries, unless authorized during the archery season. Resident — $42.50* Nonresident — $184.50* Muzzleloader – Issued for specific units during muzzleloader season for one antelope of either sex. Resident — $42.50* Nonresident — Not eligible Landowner – Issued for specific units on property of landowner in open seasons with the appropriate weapons, except not valid on federal and state sanctuaries and refuges. Resident — $13.50* Nonresident — $13.50* ** The bag limit is one antelope of either sex, except on the Bessey Ranger District of the Nebraska National Forest where the limit is one antelope with horns longer than its ears. WHO MAY APPLY FOR ANTELOPE PERMITS • Persons age 12 or older or those age 11 if they are age 12 by Aug. 20. • Resident and nonresident landowners. Residents have preference for firearm and muzzleloader permits, as well as landowner firearm permits. Doe/fawn permits are available to residents and nonresidents starting Aug. 5. • Applicants may submit only one antelope permit application. LANDOWNER PERMITS Quota is 50 percent of the general permit quota for each unit.
